Code of practice for The Dorset Coppice Group

Members of this group are professional craftsmen who recognise that the crux for the survival of their industry lies in well managed and cared for woodlands, now and into the future.

Members of this group support these guidelines in their working practice:
  • At all times maintaining the highest possible standards in their method of work and in the products they produce.
  •  Conducting their work in a truly sustainable manner which will not compromise the current or future management, productivity or amenity value of the wood.
  •  Ensuring proper care of the infrastructure of the wood, taking care not to do undue damage to the rides, furniture (gates, fences etc) or flora or disturb the fauna.
  •  Following the Country Code.
